  • From the right-corner of your system, right-click on Intuit Data Protect Tool
  • Select About Intuit Data Protect
  • Run the IDP tool by pressing CTRL + F2
  • Choose Run Diagnostic option and then reconfigure QuickBooks to provide access to IDP files.
  • Verify whether the manufacturer’s website in case if IDP tool identify any issue with your firewall and antivirus software. Add the file path: C:\Program Files(X86)\Common Files\Intuit\Data Protect in the exceptions list.

  • From the Start menu, select Control Panel.
  • Navigate to the System and Security

  • Select Inbound Rules from the Advanced Settings

  • Provide the following ports and select Next.
    • Incoming Port: 80.
    • Outgoing Ports: 443, 16841.

Solution 3: Add Trusted Sites In The Internet Explorer

  • Run Internet Explorer and then go to Tools > Internet Options.
  • Navigate to the Security tab and remove checkmark from the Enable Protected Mode
  • Select Trusted Sites and then click on Sites.
  • Remove the checkmark that asks for server verification for all sites.
  • Now, add the following sites in the trusted website list:
    • *.backup.com
    • *.intuit.com
    • *.intuit.net
  • Select Close.
  • Now, go to Privacy > Select Sites and then add following websites in the Address of Website:
    • *.quickbooks.com
    • *.intuit.com
  • Click on Allow whenever you are asked.
  • Click on OK.

  • Run Internet Explorer and then go to Tools > Internet Options.
